Hey there! I'm Shane deHaas, a new ASU graduate based in Atlanta, GA
hoping to start my professional Software Engineering career at your company!
A little about me:
I'm originally from a small town in Missouri but upon graduating high school, I joined the Marine Corps where I
worked
for five years in the intelligence community providing SIGINT support for time-sensitive reporting for
team-based operations.
This position also allowed me the privilege of obtaining a TS/SCI security clearance but that has since expired.
Following that, I worked for several years at another company where I started
out as a repair technician but was soon promoted to a broader role where my responsibilities
included everything from sales, finance, IT, and administrative support. Then family responsibilities took me in
a different direction
and I've spent the last few years obtaining my degree and am hoping to start my new career in the Software
Engineering or related field!
Poste is an iOS and Android compatible mobile application designed to store and organize posts across all your favorite social media platforms.
This was my capstone project for my undergrad and it was a great learning experience. Working with an awesome team and experiencing the development of a complete fullstack application from the ground up was amazing. Throughout the process, I learned a lot about both backend and frontend development, database management, authentication, requirements elicitation, documentation, and project management.
The site you're looking at now. This website was built using vanilla HTML and CSS with a little bit of JS.
Building this website served two goals: showcasing my developer skills and what I'm capable of as well as sharpening my HTML, CSS, and JS skills after not using them for a bit. Overall I'm proud of how this site turned out and I hope it leaves you with a good impression of me!
